Rosetown loop anyone?
Let's head out on the circular logic of the roads that take us by this little church on the prairie and back to A-town for brunch. Wind direction will determine whether we ride south or west from town. It'll be an all-at-once ride this time, so you may need a little food for along the way.
Same time, same place.

No Way! Way!
I saw this picture on Pink Bike last weekend.
My family and I were sure it was photoshopped.
Then we saw the video…
I still find it hard to believe!

a) eat breakfast with fellow riders;
b) eat breakfast alone because:
i) he's a douchebag
ii) he's hungry and needs to rest after fighting the wind
iii) both i) & ii)
c) turn around and ride home alone, because he's a douchebag
d) turn around and ride home alone, because he's a machine
e) anything is possible, but there is no escaping it when you're a douchebag

Thursday Night Ride Report
Curt, Dan, Albert, Shaun, James, Gavin, Steven, Lonny (YES) on his new Cannondale cross bike, and I spun around town and got our legs and lungs moving. We took a break on the hill before I found a lovely crevice to park my bike and flip over my handlebars. David, Duke and Tom were seen scooting about on their bikes and we all eventually made it to the clubhouse. Franklin and Steve joined us and minutes include: David is in contact/harassing Farmery beer, James has a hot fixe for sale/trade, Rob Ford “I’d jam her.”, CBC radio program hits and misses (hi there = bye there), rotating axe design V Franklins axe and sledge hammer technique, stories of Altona’s longstanding bicycle repairman/curmudgeon/bachelor - Bernie Winters, the alternative energy cyclocross race – May 21, Steven has a new screen saver, eft yes, Sweet Share-All Koop has a puurty new bike, Paul manages the Jerk Store, David schlucked all over the table, Shaun's Suburban has 433,000+ kms, wrong choice of words, we’re eagerly anticipating the inaugural beers from Prodigal Sons Brewing Co., and Duke requested to be body searched at the U.S. border. Good times. JS
David submitted these photos of Bernie Winters…

Pass The Water
I'll never have a reason to have to pee and cycle, but I'm going to try this this summer. I'll probably piss all over myself. Same old same old.

ThNR Report
David, James, Shaun, Franklin, Paul, Evan, Albert, Curt, Gavin, and I splashed around town until we were sufficiently soaked and full of grit. We retired to the clubhouse to find Duke and Tom. Minutes include: Paul is certain he hates it when people are so sure of themselves, Duke is looking for a new clubhouse but using split 2x6’s might not be the answer, the exciting and daunting task of designing a new ABES jersey continues, the awkward/amusing moments of student/teacher encounters at the clubhouse continued last night, stories of Jerrballs urinating on pillows and crapping in other peoples underwear, Gavin Whoreshau was reminded of his jersey colours, Cuyuna attendance is currently at 34, painting your car (GO BOMBERS), Tom won a "mystery box" at a social = fifty pounds of potatoes, accidentally falling naked on a cucumber and other emergency room tales, does Dan have french fries for the ABES?, the killer finish in Huy, Sweet Cheryl Koop got a new mountain bike and now has the two nicest bikes at our house, and Albert shared his bulk beef bits. Good times. JS

Saturday AM Ride!
The weather looks reasonable (for this year anyway), and after the 25-ish kms to Letellier (the forecast is for the wind to be from the southeast so we'll head down to the 421, over to the 75, and up to Barnay's) you'll feel like you deserve it!
Meet at the usual place, at 9 AM! The more the merrier, and easier! This will be a "no-drop" ride, as per rule 10.

Maundy Thursday Race Report
DSwank organized a maundy/easter themed race for a small group of regulars. Shaun, Paul, Franklin and I rode together until Franklin, aka Judas, sprinted to the clubhouse to have his feet washed by Mr. Pioneer Meat - for the win. Well done Franky you beautiful backstabbing bastard. Duke, Dan, James and Lyle joined us at clubhouse where Duke insists he told a student to turn off their pants, cx rules, races and bikes were bandied, Paul was nominated to be the Saturday morning road ride coordinator, "by just 4 points" BS, ABES 5th anniversary coffee table book, Lyle is expecting a baby and has a beautiful glow, we were serenaded by teenaged boys, Cuyuna attendance is hovering at 30 people (right arm!), David can't take a hint and totes ma goats. The post clubhouse party was in Lyle's garage where we saw a lot of pretty bikes and drank Franklin's winnings.
Last weekend team ABES, consisting of David, James, Myron, Shaun, Tom, Franklin, Paul, and I competed at the West Park School Quiz Night Fundraiser. We flexed our collective big brains to dominate the 36 team field. In the end it was ABES MVP Stompin' Tom Dueck that let our team to victory. We are officially the smartest of the smrt. Yaa teamwork!

Italy Ride Report
Paul submitted this…
I've attached a selfie of me, and the bike I rode, and the beer I drank in Florence (in Piazza de Signoria) after the ride. Give a shout out to florencebybike.it as a great little bike shop with super helpful staff (maps & routes), good bikes, and reasonable rates.
That looks awesome. We're not jealous at all jerk face. Thanks for the report Paul.

Last week Franklin led bicycle games and races that had the perfect blend of complicated scoring and indiscriminate rules. It was great. Thanks Franky.

ThNR Report
David, Shaun, James, Evan and I zipped around town on a beautiful night. We appreciated the fact that the weather didn’t hurt us. The pace was good but eventually the clubhouse was calling and we succumbed. We were joined by Duke, Tom, Franklin, Paul and Dan. Paul was nervous about leaving his brand spanking new steel 29’er in the back of his truck, so he brought it inside and we all oohed and awed appropriately. Minutes include: the jump to conclusions mat, Franklin started the “Let’s be Honest” campaign, David is obsessed with the missing Malaysian airline and the conspiracy theories, Canola Fest V Rape Fest, Jerry Loeppky ran into a Maple Leaf Menno in Los Angeles, cloudy with a chance of making stuff up, assumptions = making an Ass out of U and Mptions, upcoming long-weekend cycling schedule: July – Cuyuna, August– Maah Daah Hey, September– Riding mountain, journaling and crafting for university credits, D is for degree, rocking out at our age is still cool – but not during the week, Got Shmaunt Fat?, race director Franklin is planning a three-pronged race for next Thursday, and the quote of the night, “Not working is part of the job.” Good times.
