ABES Stuff n Such +

ThNR – natch.  Post ride festivities in the barn - don’t forget your $5 admission fee.

Friday after work ride at Tinker.  Meet at ABES headquarters at 4:30 (only if the trails are dry).  UPDATE: trails are not dry - the ride will be postponed.

Quiz Night is next Friday – ABES will defend our two year domination of being so smrt. 

Weekend road/gravel/breakfast rides coming soon’ish.  Franky wants to take our show out to the hilly routes west/south of Morden.

ABES Spring Ride – Falcon Lake – June 10 – 12.  A squirrel launching device is in the works.  Do not miss out on the fun.

ABES Family Camping – Cuyuna – July 1 – 4.  Best trails evah.

Any vehicles look better with a bike on it.  Steve significantly upgraded his new truck last Sunday by taking 6 cyclists and their bikes to ride the frozen trails at Tinker Creek for church.

Thursday night ride is on.  Plenty to talk about this week: Paul and Albert can share their Actif Epica report, I enjoyed 12 hours of 24 Hours of Winter with the FGBC, David has a new boyfriend, upcoming 24 hours of Falcon Lake teams, and Franky and his fam drove to some cool adventures last weekend...

Dwight N recently saw this in Calgary...

A sweet benefit of cycling as transportation is the deluxe parking.  I love riding my bike to the front door, jumping off and walking right in.  Rock star parking.  I especially love that in Altona we can do it without locking up.  How f'n awesome is that!  These are the good old days.

Dan, Albert and I scouted out the creek tonight and it was de-luxe.  Let's give it a go on Thursday and see if Franky can make it out of town this week or he'll have to take another brisk walk.  Good luck buddy!

ABES Spring Ride 2016

The next ABES Spring Ride will take place June 10 - 12 at Falcon lake.  Mark your calendars, take a vacation day, plan to call in sick, start mentioning it to your girlfriend and/or wife, and make the ABES spring ride a reality.

Donating Bikes

The Sustainable Energy class is going to spend a couple of day fixing up bikes to donate to the Syrian refugees who will be arriving in Altona soon.  We are still looking for more bikes and parts as well as bike trailers.  If you have any to donate please drop them off at Miller at the hut at the south end of the school or email me to find out where to drop them off.

I really want to cycle on the creek but I’m not sure it’s ready.  Paul and Gavin have both been on the ice, with mixed results.  I’d like to try it soon but I’m also scared so...I’ll let peer pressure be my guide.
