This Thursday we’re cycling to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches pizza.

PK has offered the herdsman house so we can enjoy some shelter and pizza, and Dan K said he’d supply everyone with some giggle juice.  You guys are awesome.

Franky has offered return rides to the Altona village - he's awesome too.

Southern Cross Wrap Up

That was a gooder!  David designed a great course: 4 challenging ascents and zippy, tricky descents, two thick sandpit crossings and  three splashy passes through the mud.  The sun was out and the mud in the ditch got worse as the day went on leaving everybody (especially Chris Huebner - awesome) and their bikes a sloppy mess.  So much good times!

Steve is getting married!

Steve Braun is tying the knot and there's a social at the pioneer centre this Saturday.  He's invited the ABES crew to wish him well and enjoy the traditional sosh spread.

I assume his wedding registry includes a new race tent.  Congrats Steve!

Steven rocked the Back 40 and completed the 5 lap race in excellent time.   Franklin, Jon MK and Alberto also waved the ABES flag in Morden and did us proud - well done boys!

A lot of ABES were away on vaca last week.  Let's gather and share stories of living the good life.

Ride is on! J won't be home but let's ride from his place anyways. Pretty sure the doors open and he won't mind us helping ourselves to the fridge contents.

these guys!

The ABES 4 man team of Paul, Steven, Franklin and Gavin impressed and/or annoyed all the right people at the 24 hour race last weekend.  After outpacing fast lap times with DRR for twelve hours, the DRR team stopped for the night to rest by the fire, beer-hydrate and get a good nights sleep (give up).  The ABES could have settled for a gimme win but they had a plan and they stuck to it.  They raced all night and finished at noon with 39 laps.  Their determination was inspiring - well done boys!  Franklin put in a good effort too, almost racing as much as the rest of his team - good helping Franky!

Team White Russians (my cycling/drinking team) took third place in the 4 man race (mumble outofthreeteams cough), and Albert raced every lap on a numerous configuration of bike bits.  Cheryl and Mia put in 6 and 3 laps respectively and made me proud.

Big-time props to David U, KK, Darryl NB and team DRR for putting on a sweet race.

24 Hours of Falcon

Team ABES were unable to get to the 24 hours of Falcon party last year.  Shitty for us.  After some new and improved head shaking, we'll be there.  This year our 4 man team - Gavin, Franklin, Paul and Steve are capable of kicking some ass.
