ABES Bulletin

There’s been talk about a designated ThNR where a no drop policy is considered.  A Gentleman’s Ride = slow ride = no drop ride = stay together no matter what ride.  Good idea.  This Thursday we’ll slow the pace, chill the f out and go for a leisurely spin like days of yore.  We don't always have to race about, trying to see who has the biggest wiener.  We’ll sample this ThNGR on a regular basis (whatever that means) and see what gives?  Bikes and good people are always good times.

The Planet of the ABES race tape has arrived which means we get to enjoy another submission by the Director of Race Tape...

This guy is the best!
The winter jersey orders must be emailed to me by Friday so don’t miss out on the warm, fuzzy goodness.  Dwight ordered his size sexy!  Which I assume means size small.  How many more pictures until we make a calendar?

The new race seedings have come out.  I've dropped from front row to waaaaaay back where I belong.  It was fun while it lasted.

Next on the CX schedule: Dead Horse Cross in Morden this Saturday.  Check out the action, cheer on some ABES or get yerself entered in an open race.  For an added incentive – there’ll have poutine!  I know!!

See you at 8.  JS

ThNR

ThNR is on – be there or be not there.

I’m tending my tots so I’m unable to ride this week.  Feel free to join me today (Wednesday) as I ride some laps at the motocross track – I’ll be leaving at 5’ish

This Saturday is Menno-Cross, one of my favourite races of the year.  Last year was a shit-show of awesomeness that included mud, greasy descents and a boatload of suffering.  This is an open race so everyone can heckle, hurt and high-five themselves silly.  Save yourself some cash and register online - registration closes this Friday at 5.

Weekly Ride Change

This week we'll be riding on Wednesday instead of Thursday so we can partake in the first CX World Cup event of the season, CrossVegas. 8pm, usual place followed by refreshments and good times at the Barn.

Cross Lab & ThNR

Cyclocross season kicks off this weekend with a little race/party known as Dark Cross.  It's an open race so everybody has a chance to suffer!  Do it!  Do it!  Do it!

The first time I go over a barrier this year should not be on lap 1 of a race.  Everybody is welcome to meet at the park on Thursday at 6:30 to test your mettle in front of friends and family.  Bring the kids so everyone can have a good time.

ThNR starts at 8 at the same old place and will conclude at the barn.  Don't bring the kids so everyone can have a good time.

ThNR

Town ride this week followed by munchies at pastor Dan's gazebo.  Knowing Dan we'll probably get raw turnips, no dip and he'll recite his favourite poem "Footprints".  He's amazing that way.

What the H, it will still be fun - see you at 8!
