ThNR Report

James, Gavin, Kris, Tom, Shaun, DB and I spun around town.  It was a great pace and helped stretch out my legs.  We retired to Duke’s clubhouse where we were joined by David, Tom, Lyle and Paul f’n B.  Dainties were provided by the Chip and Sausage committee from SX.  Minutes included: Duke doubted the Altona Farm Service (silly Duker), James recalls The Den of Denims, SX13 awesomeness was bandied about, Tom guaranteed he’ll race in SX14, Lyle upgraded his half-fattie (aka the fatted half) to a full fattie, Paul Bergman makes Paul Bergman requests on CFAM (royalty cheques!), James makes the cover of The Echo, Johnny S bobble head doll made to scale, DB is a name-dropping DB, Lyle made off like a bandit with a free FGBC jersey and MTB forks, SX foam party (with or without foam), Big Frame Beer, and #PBlamehashtagsarelamePB.  Good times.  JS

ThNR

Dudes - Let's spin around town or something.  There are some leftover chips and farmer sausage that need to be dealt with.  Does anybody have a bbq and a garage to offer for a post ride sausage party?

See you at 8.

Southern Cross Haute Couture

Local business owner and cycling enthusiast Dwight F. N.
is seen modelling local logos on the new Southern Cross tape.

Photo Credit: a scared Canadian Lumber Employee
Not only can Dwight make sweet, sweet love to the camera, he supports Southern Cross by racing with his family, coordinating Operation SX13 Tape Drive, advertising and modelling.

Thanks pretty boy.

THURSDAY NIGHT RIDE - Franklin suggested..."wings are for sale $10/bucket on Thursday at Coop (same day we get our equity checks and the same day we have the ThNR).  Three good things like this can't be a coincidence."  He then offered his deep-fryer to make the night complete.  Perfect.

We'll also take Steven up on his offer to use his parents farmyard and log cabin as a temporary clubhouse.

Looks like things are coming together very deliciously.

We'll gather at ABES headquarters and cycle out the Wiebe Farm for wings.  BYOB.

Dress warm.  See you at 8.  JS

Well this looks fun!

Ever thought of a MTB race where 400 riders (rabbits) take off from the start, pursued by world downhill champion Gee Atherton (the fox) on a wild downhill course?  Well RedBull did, and it looks like a boatload of fun.  Check it out...

ThNR Report

James, Ben, Albert, Steven, Gavin, Tom, Evan, David, Franklin, Shaun, Chris, DB, and I enjoyed one of the nicest rides in recent memory.  The weather was perfect, the dirt roads were smooth and we jumped over a creek crossing.  Dan generously hosted the meeting and provided a fire and homemade french fries and gravy.  Possibly the best fries ever.  Minutes are fuzzy but I remember them being mostly hilarious – whatever they were.  JS

Franz man

Dan dialed it up to 11

Good times.

ThNR Report - Late Edition

Franklin, David, Shaun, Tom, Franz, Albert, Dan, Steve, James, Gavin, Steven, Ben and I all took part in the ThNR experience.  We rode the SX trails forwards and backwards.  A fresh pile of woodchips at the park proved an opportunity for some to scamper up and over.  Franklin utilized his own technique and tried to go through the pile - this proved to be unsuccessful and hilarious.  We retired to the clubhouse where the minutes include: Shaun’s erotic pottery (Erottery) new ABES clubhouse possibilities – shipping containers and/or The Hub (after youth night – payments made with a weekly bottle-drive), Altona Grass Oval, “classy” whorehouse (no kerchiefs), DeShaun is out for SX13, David SawTweetzky keeps the blogosphere updated, Franklin found kindling in his pockets, shooting cats and dogs, Steven is cyclo-lusting, Shaun hates good music, and Blog master Faurschou promised to buy everybody a beer if he gets paid to work on the school website.  Good times.

Some could
Some could not
There were two offers for next weeks ThNR – The Wiebe farmhouse has a new log cabin that has been offered as a ThNR retreat, and Dan offered his backyard where he’d serve up french fries from the bounty of his garden.  We can alternate Thursdays or combine them together.  Either way, it’s going to be super sweet.
